Tilly & Tom’s Romantic Half Moon Creek Wandiligong Wedding
Some weddings just radiate magic from the very beginning, and Tilly & Tom’s romantic Half Moon Creek Wandiligong wedding was one of those unforgettable days. Nestled in the heart of North East Victoria, surrounded by lush greenery and views of Mount Buffalo, their celebration brought together everything couples dream of, timeless styling, heartfelt moments, and plenty of laughter and joy.
As a North East Victoria wedding photographer, I’ve been fortunate to capture many incredible love stories, but this wedding was truly special. The combination of the stunning Wandiligong location, the couple’s relaxed yet stylish vibe, and the way the day unfolded made it a standout. From photos on top of Mount Buffalo to heartfelt vows and a dance floor that stayed alive all night, Tilly & Tom’s big day was a day not to forget.
The Couple: Tilly & Tom
Tilly and Tom oozed a laid back and relaxed vibe. Their style as a couple is relaxed and down-to-earth, yet they both have a great eye for detail. They wanted their guests to feel comfortable, joyful, and completely present in the moment, and that’s exactly what they achieved.

The Venue: Half Moon Creek Wandiligong
When it came to choosing a venue, Tilly and Tom knew Half Moon Creek in Wandiligong was “the one.” Tucked away just outside Bright, Victoria, this hidden gem is surrounded by rolling hills, lush trees, and the peaceful sounds of nature. It’s the kind of place that feels both intimate and grand. A private sanctuary for couples wanting a wedding that blends elegance with country charm.
A huge perk of Half Moon Creek is that they offer multiple spaces for both ceremony and reception. With sprawling lawns, a rustic barn-style setup, and panoramic mountain views, it’s a venue that really showcases the beauty of North East Victoria weddings. Guests were able to soak up the incredible scenery while celebrating, and the venue provided the perfect canvas for their styling vision.
For me as a photographer, Half Moon Creek is a dream. The light filters beautifully through the trees, and every corner provides another stunning backdrop. Whether it’s the creeks, the gardens, or the distant views of Mount Buffalo. It’s easy to see why so many couples fall in love with this Wandiligong wedding venue.

The Styling & Details
The styling of Tilly & Tom’s day was all about blending romance with natural beauty. The colour palette was elegant and dreamy, black and white with hints of colour. Florals played a huge role in the styling of the ceremony space, with lush arrangements spilling with roses, delphiniums, and greenery that tied in beautifully with the surroundings.
Tilly wore a classic, strapless wedding dress from Bluebell Bridal that looked breathtaking against the natural backdrops of Half Moon Creek. Her bridesmaids wore classy black dresses to match in with the boys in black suits. The boys kept the vibe relaxed with no ties or bow ties.
The reception space was styled with long timber tables, soft candlelight, and floral arrangements that made the barn glow with romance. Every little detail, from cute paper umbrellas, to a fun neon sign reflected the couple’s vision of creating a warm, intimate celebration filled with love and fun.

The Ceremony
The ceremony took place outdoors, under a canopy of trees with the creek gently flowing nearby. Guests were welcomed with acoustic music by brilliant musician Dylan Raath as they took their seats, surrounded by the stunning Wandiligong landscape. The atmosphere was serene yet buzzing with anticipation.
When Tilly walked down the aisle, there wasn’t a dry eye in sight. The couple’s vows were deeply personal, reflecting not only their love for each other but also their gratitude for the journey that had led them here. As a photographer, these raw and emotional moments are what I live for. Capturing tears of joy, laughter, and the way two families come together as one.
The natural setting made the ceremony feel timeless, and it perfectly reflected the couple’s values of love, simplicity, and authenticity.

The Reception
Following the ceremony, guests moved to the lawn for canapes and cocktails. It was a cosy yet elegant space that came alive with candlelight, laughter, and the sound of glasses clinking. Long shared tables encouraged conversation and connection, and the incredible food showcased the very best of the region. Local wines, and delicious canapes ensured guests felt truly spoiled.
The speeches were heartfelt, ranging from tear-jerking stories to moments of hilarious laughter. Once the dance floor opened, the celebration reached another level. Instead of a first dance the couple opted for an all in dance party and got all their guests onto the dance floor to dance with them. A Dylan Raath kept the energy high, and guests danced late into the night.

Favourite Moments
Every wedding has those standout memories that make it unforgettable. For me, there were so many highlights at Tilly & Tom’s Half Moon Creek wedding.
- First look with Tilly & Tom. At the Airbnb once Tilly was ready, Tom waited on the lawn for her to walk up and tap him on the shoulder. It was such a sweet moment with a few tears from both.
- Photos at Mount Buffalo. Before heading to the ceremony, the whole crew went up Mount Buffalo for photos on the mountain. It was so fun and the views were breathtaking! The couple laughed, twirled, and soaked up the moment, making for natural and joy-filled images.
- First look with Tilly’s parents and girlfriends. It was a beautiful reveal to her parents with a few tears. Followed by a reveal to her crew of girlfriends who squealed at the sight of gorgeous Tilly.
- The Dance Floor. I’ll never forget the way grandma joined in, dancing alongside friends in their 20s. It was a true picture of love across generations.
- The Quiet Moments. After the ceremony instead of rushing off for more portraits, Tilly & Tom opted to just enjoy the time with their guests. There were cocktails, photos, snuggly babies, grandma putting lipstick on - lots of candid opportunities.
