Brown Brothers Milawa Wedding

wedding at Brown Brothers Milawa

If you haven't heard of Brown Brothers in Milawa then you are truly missing out.

It is one of the best venues in our region and hosts a killer wedding.

And I have to say it is one of the best venues for photo spots because there are just SO many options.

Scroll through the photos below and you'll see many different spots for getting ready, ceremony, wedding party photos and sunset photos (even when there isn't a sunset).

Here are some possible getting ready spots

- The Cottage - stunning light, vintage feel, obviously the closest to the venue

- Lancemore - across the road but also nice big rooms that have recently been renovated and look great in photos

- Gumstead house - Just down the room, plenty of room for all of your wedding party to stay as well. Nice gardens for photos if you want something different

- Milawa Vineyard Views Airbnb - modern apartment that backs onto the Brown Brothers Vines

Here are some possible ceremony spots

Before I talk about these its important to mention that these spots are all beautiful but there is a certain way to make them work best which I will outline for each spot

- The Oak tree - very stunning but can be very dapple (spotty light) on a bright day. Its best to turn your ceremony so that the light streams in evenly behind you. This will allow for stunning photos so that you don't have blotches of light on your face

- The Gardens outside the cottage or restaurant. Both beautiful spots if its a bit 'swampy' at the oak tree. Again, try and face your ceremony so that the light is directly on you or directly behind you

- The Barn - Wet weather back up! Still stunning and rustic but just be aware it is quite dark so a flash may need to be used.

Here are some possible photo spots

- The forest - Very unique spot that makes from some pretty epic photos. Keep in mind it is full of tiny bugs that may get in your dress. Worth it though!

- The vines - this depends on the kind of weather we get. If its an overcast day the vines work great. However if its a really sunny day it's best to save the vines for sunset

- The cottage - the light streaming in in the afternoon actually makes it a really beautiful spot for photos

- The entry - big enough to fit your whole wedding party there

- The cellar - only big enough for the two of you but can create some really special artsy photos

- The old mill - a car ride around the corner but a pretty epic big rustic building

Overall it is a stunning venue that never fails to put on a good wedding.
I can also say that the food is amazingggg and Taylor, the events organiser is a gun too!

Hope this helps!
